Ferris's Bio

I started off in 4-H like many other juniors. I had a great advisor who was a handler and encouraged me to show with the AKC. I did well at State Fairs and so forth but I got to me more competitive. So I got my first purebred CWC Truman. I learned handling and competed in Juniors as well as showed him in breed. I had a love/hate relationship with Juniors from the beginning I loved to show and loved learning the breed. I hated the politics of Juniors and being ignored at the end of the line with a small dog. Next came Brody and Twyla. Truman didn’t end up turning out the way we wanted so we got them. They both finished relatively quickly. Brody never stopped growing and isn’t the best representation of the standard so he went on to do obedience and rally. Twyla is to small and  also not the best representation of the breed. However we decided to take a risk and bred her to Jack. By sheer luck she ended up producing beautifully and gave us awesome puppies and is our foundation bitch. Then came Cezanne and Picasso who we are so happy with that they turned our stunning. Some of my proudest moments include: going Best Junior at the CWCCWR Specialty, a big major with Brody at Canfield, winning the bred by bitch class at the CWCCWR show, Cezanne going Best Black Bitch in the Megan, and being asked to write an article for The Bulletin. Today I am a Breeder Owner and Handler of my own dogs and dedicated to learning everything and anything about our breed. I never stop learning. Some of my goals for the future include: winning at least an award of Merit at a national, winning the bred by class at a national, being asked to judge a Megan, and become a mentor with the national club. I hope to continue producing quality dog with my co-breeder and best friend Emily.
